The Problem
People held separate policies for family, car, travel and home, each with its own sign-up and claim form. The client wanted one app where an account opens in a minute and a claim starts from a photo.
What We Built
Account from an ID photo. A Lambda sends the licence photo to Google Vision and parses the name, ID number and dates for the user to approve.
Phone login. Cognito custom auth challenge Lambdas send and check a one-time code. No password.
Covers. Family, mobility and property cover, with travel preferences feeding a cover calculation.
Claims with photos. Photos go to S3 and the app recommends repair places on a map.
Mobility data. A native module streams location history and driving state to the API; a scheduled Lambda writes daily summaries.
A Note on the Image
Client contract, 2018 to 2019. Screens are redrawn from the app code with its own illustrations; names and ID numbers are sample data.
